This is Petra Arkanian, a character from Orson Scott Card's novel Ender's Game. It's in one of the training rooms where the students learn battle tactics.

I've been told she looks asexual, almost male..imo that's ok, since in the books the students were in their early teens iirc.

I like the technique expressed here, and the 'star' in the background is perfect, just how I imagined them to look! Her expression tells me she's seeing something here. Kudos to you for capturing her! But... she looks so tall!!! And ~metalavery is right, you should read the whole series, even the shadow books, it would really help you to get to know the charecters better. Shadow of the Hegemon features a lot of Petra Arkanian, including her homecoming. Have you read Ender in Exile?

Thanks for the praise. She is a bit taller than she's supposed to be I guess. But I'm told today's children are often taller due to nutrition and whatnot, so I could always blame some future GM food :D.

The problem is, those books really seem interwoven story-wise. So it's probably better to read all of them right one after the other. Otherwise you'd probably miss a lot of references etc.

I didn't read Ender in Exile. Why do you ask? Is it special in some way?

Well, it only includes Ender and Valentine from Ender's Game, but it does contain Petra's son... interesting, huh?

Hmm, yea, I suppose it could be interesting. Maybe I'll read it one day, thanks :).

Not how I imagined her, but pretty sweet image.
I actually like seeing her in my mind like this...

You should draw her With bean.

Well I never read the Shadow series, so I don't really know the story behind them. Maybe I'll read it one day and then draw them :).
